There are certain aspects of the good life, like
fine wines, that actually improve with age. All of those finer things –
award-winning cuisine and luxurious accommodations, world-class gaming and
entertainment, captivating diversions and recreations – are available at every
turn in beautiful Mesquite, Nevada. And over time, Mesquite just keeps getting
better.
In the late 1800s, the first European settlers
traced the Virgin River through a spectacular valley to Mesquite Flats – so
named for the indigenous Mesquite trees. Through trials and tribulations, the
small community survived, eventually shortened its name, and finally welcomed
the world.
The Virgin River Valley’s natural beauty, the
area’s sublime climate and its outstanding resorts, casinos and golf courses
have made modern Mesquite a Mecca for discerning vacationers. Just an hour north
of Las Vegas, Mesquite has become the place to be for those who know that the
good life doesn’t necessarily involve crowds, traffic and line ups, but does
involve everything else—like spas.
While the CasaBlanca, Oasis, and Eureka resorts
didn’t invent spas, they have improved on a very old idea with the latest in
modern techniques and technology. In fact, the SPA -- an acronym for the Latin
“salus per aquam” which means “health through water” -- has been part of
civilized life since 500 BC. But the Greeks of antiquity would gladly pass on
Emperor Agrippa’s idea of the ‘perfect bath’ to enjoy a rejuvenating session of
massage reflexology at the Eureka spa (where “heaven is just a touch away”); be
transported by Watsu, an outdoor yogic water massage at the CasaBlanca spa; or
be immersed in a soul-restoring body scrub and herbal wrap at the spacious Oasis
spa. All of the spas at Mesquite welcome guests to the full range treatments and
facilities that have dramatically improved on one of the ancient finer things in
life.
Before and after treatments, the resorts of
Mesquite are the ideal place to relax and recreate for singles, couples and the
whole family.
For most travelers Nevada means casinos, and
Mesquite has luxury casinos in spades. The CasaBlanca Hotel Casino, the Eureka
Casino Hotel, the Oasis Resort Casino and the Virgin River Hotel Casino
are the biggest and best games in town. Friendly and gracious staffs welcome you
to all your favorite games –Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker, Keno,
Slots, Video Poker, Bingo, and Sports and Race Books.
Nevada is also synonymous with excellent food and
entertainment. Both are in abundant supply at Mesquite’s superb resort hotels.
From fine dining – try the lobster at the CasaBlanca’s Purple Fez Café; the
steak at Gregory’s at the Eureka; the prime rib or seafood at Charmaine’s at the
Oasis; the crab legs at Victoria’s at Virgin River – to casual cuisine, from
pizzas to pubs, every taste and craving can be satisfied 24/7.
Between sessions at the gaming table and gourmet
detours to the restaurants, sit back and relax at the CasaBlanca Sky Dome
Lounge, the Wild Cactus Lounge at the Eureka, or the Oasis Cabaret Lounge and
enjoy some of the hottest musical and comedy acts in show business.
It’s all part of the pure pleasure of brief or
lingering visits to Mesquite’s resorts where rooms are like luxurious homes away
from home -- but with valet and room service, Jacuzzi and exercise facilities
included.
Past the statuesque palms and sparkling waterfall
at the entrance, The CasaBlanca Hotel has 500 deluxe tower rooms and suites. The
Eureka Hotel offers Jacuzzi suites with Roman tubs among its 210 rooms and
suites. There are 1000 choices of accommodations at the Oasis Resort from deluxe
rooms to suites to super suites with Jacuzzi, refrigerators and bars. At the
country-style Virgin River Hotel there are 800 rooms, free RV parking and a
full-service RV park.
With the seductive spas, spacious rooms, exciting
casinos, superb food and entertainment, it is difficult to leave the resorts.
But the outdoor activities in Mesquite are equally enticing. The golf is world
class as is the horseback riding, skeet shooting, tennis, bowling, hiking, go
carts, ATV tours, family arcades and more. And the swimming pools at the resorts
are outstanding, with waterslides, hot tubs, volleyball courts, wet bars and
secluded, shallow areas for children.
It’s all here, for everyone, in the relative
seclusion and peace and quiet of a friendly Southwest community. With each
passing year, the good things in life just keep getting better in Mesquite. |
