In 2005 Phoenix
based golf course architect David Druzisky was commissioned to create an
additional 9 holes for the The Oasis Golf Club's lonely Vista's course which was
originally built in 1994 along with the Palmer Course which was kind of
forgotten about...until now.
The original
Vista's course was routed on similar land, and had a similar feel to the "Big
Brother" Palmer course, but was a bit disconnected from the clubhouse and the
facilities by about a quarter of a mile. With this golf disconnect it seemed
like it was out by itself, and kind of lonely, and it needed 9 more holes to be
loved and become another excellent course in Mesquite.

When Mr. Druzisky
first saw the land he had to work with he was quite excited with what he could
create. The desert has been eroding for million of years, and the craggy, desert
canyons of Mesquite provided a wonderful canvas to create some very interesting
golf holes.
The new holes combine with the old holes to create a fun,
challenging, and scenic golf course with a mix of different looks holes
and wildly different shots.
Recently, the
nines have been flipped to create a much better flow to the course, and allows
golfers to be back near the clubhouse for refreshments after the ninth green.
The change has been well received, and was a good move for the flow of the
course.
